Senior Academic Counselor
Advises all classifications for the following professions: Medical, Dental, Veterinary, Optometry, Physician Assistant, Pharmacy, and prospective students
Todd is our Senior Academic Counselor, and has been with us since May 2015. Before joining our Pre-Health team, he was an advisor in the College of Arts & Sciences for three years, where he discovered his true passion for serving college students. He earned a BBA in Management from Texas A&M University, and an M.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies from UNT. As a former gymnast and coach, he believes that with hard work, dedication, and an encouraging support system, all have the potential to create their own success story; as a result, he finds joy in helping students identify their individual passion, so as to create a plan that is meaningful to their academic and career goals. In his spare time, he enjoys listening to music, spending time with friends, and working on creative art projects.
“Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.” –John Wooden
Mardreana Reed, M.Ed.
Advises all classifications for the following professions: Medical, Dental, Veterinary, Optometry, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Chiropractic, and prospective students
Mardreana is our Academic Counselor, and joined our team in March 2016. Before coming to UNT, she served college students in other roles within higher education over the past few years. Originally Mardreana is from “Cereal City” Battle Creek, Michigan. She earned a Bachelor's in Movement Science from Grand Valley State University, as well as a Master’s degree in Student Affairs Leadership. During her undergraduate experience, she discovered that a student’s engagement is not limited to the classroom setting; she feels that every member on campus should lead students toward academic and professional excellence. As a result, she has always had a passion for student success, and believes that she is here to teach and lead young students toward such success. She is committed to interacting with our students and being a guide in their development. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching reality television, and relaxing at the park!
She lives through and advises with the Henry Kissinger quote, “The task of a leader is to get his people from where they are to where they have not been.”
